Marrakesh to Merzouga :
Day 1: Marrakesh – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Kalaat M’Gouna – Boumalne Dades
On your first day we will pick you up from your Hotel in Marrakesh at 8 am and leave for Aït Benhaddou. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 2260 meters over the Tizi n’Tichka pass first, then visit the Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou and stop for lunch in a local restaurant along the way.
Later we will drive to Ouarzazate, the capital of the province, and stop near the famous Atlas Studios, the world largest film studio where well-known movies like “The Mummy”, “Gladiator” and “Alexander ” were shot. We are free to do a small tour here and then continue to the city center for a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt.
After that we will continue to Boumalne Dades where we will have some traditional dinner prepared extra for you at your Riad.
Day 2: Kalaat M’Gouna – Boumalne Dades – Todgha Gorges – Tinejdad – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)
In the morning at around 08Am we will await you with a delicious and energizing breakfast in your hotel to start the day. After that we will continue towards Tinghir passing through Boumalne Dades where we will stop for a magnificent panoramic view of the Dades valley.
After that, we will depart to the Todgha Gorge via the small commune of Imider and the bigger Tinghir. There are several opportunities to stop along the way for photos and admiring views of the landscape. Arriving at the Todgha Gorge where we will prepare for a small hike of about 30-45 minutes through the canyon for you to enjoy its marvelous views of the landscape.
Later we will continue to Erfoud where we will prepare for a 90 minute camel trek and leave for the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi (also called Merzouga dunes) with dune formations up to 150 meters in altitude. Here we can enjoy the beautiful sunset, happening from about 6 pm in the winter and about 8 pm in the summer, in the Saharan desert and get ready for a traditional dinner in a typical nomadic berber tent where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) – Marrakesh
In the morning we will await you with some classical Moroccan breakfast and a stunning sunrise, depending on the time of the year happening from 5 am on, in one of the most amazing landscapes you can imagine. After gaining some energy feel free for a stroll through the dunes and later we will jump back on our camels for the way back to the hotel in Erfoud.
From there you will travel back directly to Marrakech with a few breaks (including lunch) along the way for photos and to stretch your legs. In Marrakesh we are happy to drop you off at your accommodation.

After that we will head for Kalaat M’Gouna or Boumalne Dades for a night with some traditional Moroccan dinner at your hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Kalaat M’Gouna – Boumalne Dades – Todgha Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – N’kob – Agdz – Ouarzazate
In the morning we will await you with some classical Moroccan breakfast and a stunning sunrise, depending on the time of the year happening from 5 am on, in one of the most amazing landscapes you can imagine. After gaining some energy feel free for a stroll through the dunes and later we will jump back on our camels for the way back to the hotel in Erfoud.
From there we will continue our route to Ouarzazate, passing through the town of Rissani first, where we can discover the local souk, the traditional marketplace of the town. After that we will continue to the town of Alnif, famous for its supply of trilobite fossils.
At our next stop in the town of N’kob we will stop for lunch and you have time to stretch your legs and relax before we continue for Agdz (spelled “Agdez”) for a panoramic view of the town’s palm groves in the so called Draa valley. Following we will cross the mountains around Ait Saoun to eventually reach Ouarzazate. Here we will have dinner and one night at our hotel.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait benhaddou – Tizi N’tichka Pass – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakesh
After a good breakfast we will go to the Kasbah of Taourirt and later have a photo opportunity at tge atlas film studio. We will continue to Aït Benhaddou, visit the Kasbah there and have lunch at a local restaurant down in the village.
From there you will travel back directly to Marrakesh with a few breaks (including lunch) along the way for photos and to stretch your legs. In Marrakesh we are happy to drop you off at your very accommodation in town.
